A not-so-Hot August Nights

After experiencing some very hot days at the 2014 Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada, we planned and prepared for another hot time in the old town this year.  Much to our surprise and delight, the temperature in Reno this year averaged about 85 degrees – about 15 to 20 degrees cooler than last year.   People actually donned jackets and sweaters in the evening as compared to last year when folks were removing as much clothing as possible!  Here are some shots from the 2015 event.

JamPro Music Factory in Reno assembled an all-star band of talented young musicians to perform at the event. They call themselves Freedom Revival and the band members range in ages from 13 to 20. They were a joy to watch.

This last car was so popular that one couldn’t get a shot of it without people hovering around it.

There were some cars with just beautiful colors.

There were convertibles galore. As you can see from the skies, only the brave left their tops down.

And of course, the great hot rods.

As usual, the Reno police were ever-present and always friendly and helpful.

It was another successful Hot August Nights and it appeared that everyone had a great time.

  1. Good Morning Jo, Great shots of some great cars … I love the ‘old school’ customs and hot rods, not so much the ‘big tire’ look though. Thanks for sharing the experience and the wonderful photos ..
